From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE – It’s time for the 2019 baseball season, and registration is now open. The Trussville Parks and Recreation offers another season for its youth spring baseball league, sanctioned by the Greater Birmingham Baseball Association (GBBA) and Baseball Players Association (BPA).
Registration for the Trussville’s Youth Baseball League is open Nov. 28 through Feb. 16, for ages five to 18-years-old. The cut-off date is April 30, 2019. If there are not enough players to form a team in an age group, such as with the five and six-year-olds, the league will be combined.
Evaluations will begin on Feb. 25 through March 1, 2019. More information on the time of evaluations will be provided by Trussville Parks & Recreation.
The season will begin in March and continue through to May 4. Most games will be played during the week, no more than two per week ranging from 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Only three Saturdays will be scheduled for games.
The cost for early registration is $140 and runs from Nov. 28, 2018 – Jan. 4, 2019; regular registration is $150 and runs from Jan. 5 – Feb. 8, 2019; and late registration is $180 and runs from Feb. 9 – 16, 2019.
Coaches will receive a $20 discount on their child for early and regular registration fees. If, for any reason, you are no longer a coach, you will be responsible for the $20.
Equipment needed includes a BPF 1.15 bat for regular season and All-Stars.
