James Curtis Mabrey, 91, of Cullman, passed away on Dec. 10.
Mabrey was a member of the Seventh Street Baptist Church in Cullman. Mabrey was a loyal employee of Exchange Security, now known as Regions Bank, for over forty years. James started his career as a clerk in the bookkeeping department. He retired in 1990 as Vice President of Regions (then First Alabama Bank). For 25 years he served on the Jimmy Hale Mission board as their treasurer. Mabrey was also a lifetime member of the Masons.
Mabrey was preceded in death by his first son, Randy Franklin Mabrey. Mabrey was survived by his soulmate Ernestine Grimes Mabrey, his daughter Karen Sharp (Clark), and son James Ronald “Ronnie” Mabrey; granddaughters Tracey Pentenbrick (Kenneth), Stacey Allen (Brad), and Danielle Kennedy (Bryan); grandson Austin Sharp; and great-grandchildren: Emily Anne Kerr, Bradley Jay “BJ” Allen and Hadley Grimes Kennedy.
The family will receive friends at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Dec. 12. Funeral service to follow with a brief graveside service.
