From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club has named its Student of the Month for December from Clay-Chalkville High School (CCHS).
The Don Haisten Student of the Month from CCHS is senior Christina Jimenez. Christina is involved in soccer, yearbook, broadcast journalism, ambassador, YLF, YLPA, National Honor Society, NAHS, National Spanish Society, and bowling.
She has been named Student of the Month twice, was in the homecoming court three times, received the broadcast merit award, and also received the Cougar Character Award. In her spare time, she likes to play soccer or spend time with her family and friends.
Her Teacher of the Month is Laura Snowden, her counselor.
“Mrs. Snowden has been my counselor since my freshman year,” Jimenez said. “She has been like another mother to me here at school. She always looks out for me and has helped me get to the person I am today.
“She has provided recommendation letters for me, and I am truly grateful for her. She pushes me to constantly do better. She never fails to make me and also other students feel welcome and appreciated.”
This program is sponsored by Jim ‘n Nick’s Bar-B-Q. Each honoree received a gift card from Jim ‘n Nick’s Bar-B-Q.
The Club meets at First Baptist Church in Trussville at 7 a.m. on Wednesday mornings. For more information on the Trussville Rotary Club Daybreak, or to help with one of our projects, please email Diane Poole at diane.poole@trussvillechamber.com.
