ST. CLAIR COUNTY — The case of former Police Chief Brian Scott Martin, who was fired following his arrest in July on misdemeanor drug charges, has been set for trial.
Martin, an Odenville resident, was arrested on July 27 by Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) and taken to the Odenville Police Department to be interviewed after an executed search of his residence, which revealed a quantity of marijuana and a bong located underneath the master bedroom sink.

In addition to the search inside Martin’s residence, a search of his patrol car located in front of his residence was conducted, where officials discovered a quantity of marijuana along with a bong located under the gun safe in the rear of the vehicle in an unmarked evidence bag.
Martin was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree. He was arrested, booked in the St. Clair County jail, and was later release on a $1,500 bond.
Martin was placed on administrative leave from the City of Lipscomb and fired in August as Chief of the Lipscomb Police department following his arrest on drug charges.

His trial date is set for Feb. 29, 2019, at 9 a.m.
