BLOUNT COUNTY — A two-vehicle crash has claimed the life of a Blountsville man on Dec. 22.
At approximately 6:15 p.m. Saturday evening, Douglas Earl Brooks, 59, was killed when the 1999 Ford van he was driving collided with a 2000 GMC pickup on Alabama Highway 79.
Brooks, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the GMC pickup was injured and transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The crash occurred six miles south of Locust Fork.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
