PELL CITY – Thieves are stealing from mailboxes in the Pell City area and police are investigating, according to WIAT.
“I believe the person that is stealing the mail was looking for cash or gift cards,” Pell City resident Tobias Eaton said to WIAT.
Tony Robinson of USPS provided WIAT with a statement.
“Rewards up to $10K for info leading to arrest and conviction of those responsible for mail theft,” Robinson said. “Local law enforcement was notified to be on the lookout. Tips can be called to the United States Postal Inspection Service number 877-876-2455 or online at postalinspectors.uspis.gov. Descriptions and license plates are helpful. If suspects are actively being observed stealing mail, contact local law enforcement first.”
