GARDENDALE — According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, a motorcycle crash occurred at the intersection of US 31 and Vulcan Drive, which resulted in a death on Monday.
The Jefferson County Coroner has identified the victim as Willie Elliot Junior Johnson, a 26-year-old white male, out of Bessemer.

ALEA reported that the accident may have been related to a pursuit, initiated by a Blount County state trooper on I-65 south just before 2:20 p.m. on Monday, and was terminated on Mt. Olive Road in Jefferson County, in the area of I-65.
ALEA reported that the motorcycle that crashed was not being actively pursued by state troopers at the time of the crash.
