ARGO –- The Argo City Council was addressed by Pastor Jerry Mahner of Argo Christian Fellowship Monday night. Mahner presented a check to the city of Argo in the amount of $2,550. The money will be used to make improvements to the city park.
“Our church typically gives one of our offerings away in December,” Mahner said. “Usually it goes around the world. Typically, half of it, or a little more, goes to the Alabama Team Challenge, men’s and women’s. This year, we decided many months ago that we wanted it to go to the city of Argo for improvements at the city park. We really enjoy what the city council has done to improve our community for children, for young people. This goes to quality of life. It shows that this area has a lot of young families, a lot of young kids. So, we want to present a check to you from Argo Christian Fellowship in the amount of $2,550.”
