One of the most popular fast food restaurants in the South is headed for the Birmingham area. Cook Out announced Tuesday that they plan to open on 281 Lakeshore Parkway, the site of the former Outback Steakhouse.
Cook Out is known for it’s fresh, never frozen, grilled hamburgers and chicken sandwiches, as well as 40 flavors of milkshakes. They also serve grilled hot dogs and barbecue, along with a wide variety of sides.
The restaurant chain started in Greensboro, N.C., in 1989, and has expanded throughout the South with over 20 locations.
No opening date has been announced. If you want to try a hamburger before they open, the nearest restaurant is 15th Street in Tuscaloosa.
