First responders are working two fatal traffic accidents where pedestrians have been struck and killed by vehicles on Tuesday morning.
In Tuscaloosa, a pedestrian was killed on Highway 69 South near Beer Creek Road just before 5 a.m. The incident closed the northbound lanes of Highway 69 for several hours while law enforcement conducted an investigation into the accident.
In Etowah County, a pedestrian was struck and killed on Interstate 59, according to Alabama State Troopers. The accident occurred on I-59 southbound near mile marker 177. The southbound lanes were closed for about an hour and troopers investigated. One lane is now open.
