BIRMINGHAM — Disciplinary action may await two first-grade girls in Birmingham after a butter knife was found in the possession of one of them on Wednesday.
According to Carol Robinson of Al.com a teacher at Sun Valley Elementary School, located on 18th Avenue N.W., collected the item after she noticed it.
An investigation followed and it is being alleged that another student had suggested she bring the butter knife to school, reported Carol Robinson.
Birmingham City Schools spokeswoman Adrienne Mitchell addressed the situation.
“As always, the safety of students is our foremost concern,’’ Mitchell said. “We have many procedures and policies in place to maintain a safe environment for all students.”
