CLAY — Two weeks ago, Clay teenager Cody Tucker was like most 14-year-old boys. He loved running, playing sports and spending time with friends. Things changed for Tucker when a trip to Children’s ER for an extreme pain in his back ended with a diagnosis of neuroblastoma on his spine.
Neuroblastoma is an aggressive form of cancer that normally impacts children between the ages of one and five. It is extremely rare for a 14-year-old to be diagnosed with the condition.
After the diagnosis, Tucker was admitted to the hospital where a team of doctors met to prep Tucker for surgery, chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Tucker lives with his grandparents and sisters in Clay and this hardship has placed a strain on finances and income. To remedy this, at least partially, a GoFundMe account has been set up for Tucker and it can be visited here.
“The cost of travel alone is getting expensive,” accordionists to the GoFundMe page. “This is where you can help! If you could help give something to take a little burden off of this family it would be so appreciated. Not only do they have to cover the cost of his medical treatment but regular household bills, food, gas and many more things. Please consider helping the Tuckers, whether it be a donation, a care package or a prayer!”
