HOOVER — On Monday, Hoover Police responded to a residence in the 3100 block of Crossings Drive in the Caldwell Crossings neighborhood. Friends of the resident called 911 after discovering the victim, identified as 73-year-old Arthur Grey Till Jr., deceased inside his home.
There were no apparent signs of forced entry, but evidence at the scene suggested that foul play was likely.
Till’s body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery, and an autopsy was performed on Tuesday morning, police said.
The medical examiner has determined that Till died from blunt force trauma, with the manner of death being homicide, according to police.
Detectives and crime scene investigators continue to follow leads, examine evidence and conduct interviews. At this point, police do not believe the victim, nor his residence, was randomly targeted.
According to court documents, Till had faced weapons and drug charges in 2018.
