TRUSSVILLE — Road closures will continue while Norfolk Southern finishes work in Trussville this week.
The Trussville Police Department provided information on the locations of the closures, as well as dates scheduled and alternate routes:
Wednesday, Norfolk Southern will close Mary Taylor Road.
Thursday, Norfolk Southern will close Praytor Road. Upon completion, Camp Coleman Road will be closed. Motorists may detour down Will Pond through old Gold Kist Plant to Commerce Drive. Norfolk Southern may begin work on Commerce Drive on Thursday. If so, motorists may then detour through Gold Kist Plant to Camp Coleman Road.
March 18, Norfolk Southern may continue work on Commerce Drive. Once completed, Norfolk Southern will move work to Meadowlark Drive. Work may extend to Bethune Parkway on that day. If so, motorists may detour out on Jayden Drive to Cardinal Street to Highway 11.
March 19, Norfolk Southern will complete any work on Bethune Parkway that remains. If work is being done on Bethune Parkway, motorists may detour out on Jayden Drive through Stockton onto Highway 11.
March 20, Norfolk Southern will work on Carrington Drive. In the case of an emergency, motorists may go out the back gate to Blackjack.
Officials asked the railroad not to close the streets in residential neighborhoods until after 8 a.m. and to have the streets opened before 3 p.m. for school buses and school traffic to enter and exit these locations.
All listed times and dates are subject to change by the railroad.
