TRUSSVILLE — Huskies Varsity softball took an 18-2 loss to Spain Park on Wednesday.
Spain Park lit things up early with Maddie Majors homering on a 2-1 count and scoring two runs, and keeping up that momentum in the third inning by scoring nine runs.
Annabelle Widra took the win for Spain Park by going five innings. She only allowed two runs on six hits, with nine strike outs and one walk.
Hayden Neugent was on the mound for the Huskies for three innings. She allowed 11 runs on nine hits, struck out one, walked one.
A bright spot in the game came for Hewitt-Trussville in the third inning when Hanna Borden hit a homerun.
The Huskies had six hits in the game with Maddie Katona and Borden contributing multiple hits for Hewitt-Trussville.
