TRUSSVILE — Huskies varsity softball took the win against Oxford with a score of 6-1 at Friday’s game.
Oxford’s lone run came in the first inning as Sarah Howell knocked out a solo homerun.
The Huskies started putting on the pressure in the third inning, putting up three runs due to a couple of doubles by Hannah Borden and Molly Cobb with Kailey Walters contributing a single.
Cobb took the win for the Huskies. Her time on the mound, over the course of five innings, saw one hit, one run and 11 strikeouts and one walk.
Emily Thrasher pitched for Oxford. She went four innings and oversaw seven hits and six runs. She struck out three.
Neither the Huskies nor Oxford committed a single error in the game.
