A shutout led the way to Hewitt-Trussville varsity softball’s Tuesday victory over Dale County Christian. The Huskies defeated Dale County Christian 14-0.
Hayden Neugent took the win for Trussville. Neugent allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings. She struck out six.
Dale County Christian pitching allowed 14 runs on 13 hits with two strikeouts and zero walks. The Husky offense hit the ground running when Hannah Borden singled in the first inning and scored one run.
The Huskies really set it on fire in the third inning when a total of seven runs were scored. Abigail Dorsett, Kenleigh Cahalan, Borden and Kaley Walters all contributed RBIs.
Hewitt-Trussville was lightening at the plate, putting up 13 hits for the game. Cahalan, Maddie Katona, Hanna Dorsett and Dorsett got multiple hits for the Huskies. The best for the day was Cahalan, who went three-for-three at the plate.
Hewitt-Trussville had one error in the game, Dale County Christian had four.
