TALLADEGA COUNTY — A discovery in Talladega County prompted an investigation by the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office.
According to law enforcement, the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office received a phone call in reference to someone who found human remains on Monday, March 25. The sheriff’s office initiated an investigation and determined the remains located in Talladega County were removed from a residence located in Coosa County.
Officials said the Talladega County Sheriff’s Office notified the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office on the information they recently discovered. Deputies from both Talladega and Coosa County Sheriff’s Offices went to a home located on Coosa County Road 99 in Sylacauga where they found more human remains.
Law enforcement said an investigation surrounding both the death and identity of the victim is underway.
