TRUSSVILLE — Hewitt-Trussville varsity softball seized victory in a Tuesday shut out of Dothan with a final score of 10-0.
Kaitlyn Hughes had the mound for the Huskies through five innings. She allowed zero runs, four hits, struck out five and walked zero.
Hewitt-Trussville started the scoring early thanks to Molly Cobb providing a triple on a 0-1 count that scored one run.
The Huskies hit their stride offensively in the second inning, putting up eight runs. Hanna Dorsett had a walk, Cobb had a single, Hannah Borden had a double, Maddie Katona had a triple, Riley Tyree put up a sacrifice fly and Kailey Walters provided a home run for Hewitt-Trussville.
The Huskies had 10 hits. Cobb and Borden put up multiple hits with Cobb going three-for-three at the plate.
Hewitt-Trussville had zero errors in the game. Dothan had three errors in the game.
