Springville varsity softball took on Highland High School (Ohio) Tuesday, March 26 and came away from the game with a stunning 16-0 victory.
Abby Swaney had the mound for Springville through four innings. She gave up two hits and zero runs. Swaney struck out seven and walked one.
Springville put up their first run in the bottom of the first off of a single from Makalyn Kyser.
The Tigers notched eight more runs in the third inning, owing to singles by McKenzie Brown and Macy Freeman, a walk from Kyser, a triple from Hannah Stearns and a homer from Emily Robinson.
Springville had 18 hits for the day. Tatum Bartlett, Karli Davidson, Swaney, Freeman, Brown and McKenzie Spivey contributed multiple hits for the Tigers. Davidson and Bartlett had three hits each.
Both teams had one error for the game.
