JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reported that a child died following a two-car crash in the Minor community.
The crash happened near the intersection of Birmingport Road and Galveston Street at 8:24 a.m. on Thursday, March 28. Deputies said there had been a collision between a truck and a car.

Four children and three adults were taken to the hospital where one of the children was pronounced dead. The Jefferson County coroner’s office said 18-month old Maria Bonilla was the child killed.
Deputies are investigating the cause of the wreck.
