Springville varsity softball shut out St. Clair County on Tuesday thanks, in part, to Abbey Swaney’s pitching in the 8-0 victory.
The Tigers’ offense came on big time in the fifth inning putting up five runs. The runs were built around a walk by Kyndall Gipson, triple by Makalyn Kyser, a groundout by Emily Robinson and an error on a ball put in play by Mckenzie Spivey.
Swaney pitched seven innings in which she gave up zero runs on two hits and struck out 13.
Hanna King led the Tigers in hitting with two in four at-bats. The Tigers had zero errors for the game.
