PINSON — It was a heartbreaker for Pinson Valley Indians varsity softball as they lost 9-5 to Leeds on Tuesday.
The top of the second inning proved to be a harbinger for Leeds as they put up three runs scored off of three singles.
Leeds scored another set of three runs in the top of the sixth inning with singles by Maddie Anthony, Brianna McLaughlin, and a ground out by Abby Thomas.
Jordan Walker put up an excellent fight, going seven innings. She gave up nine runs on 14 hits and struck out five.
Hope Cole gave the Indians a home run in the bottom of the third. Also, the Indians had nine hits for the game with Cole, Anna Sullivan and Shauna Clevenger putting up multiple hits for Pinson Valley.
Leeds had 14 hits in the game and three errors. Pinson Valley had two errors for the game.
