DECATUR — A physician from north Alabama has met bail and is out of custody after having been arrested on sexual assault charges Friday.
Dr. Michael Dick, a rheumatologist, was arrested on the sexual assault charges while in Montgomery at a licensure hearing, according to WVTM.
The license hearing regarded his license to practice, which had been suspended back in October, WVTM reported.
The current crop of first-degree sexual assault charges originated in Morgan County, said WVTM.
Dick had previously been convicted on three misdemeanor charges related to the harassment of patients of his. The conviction resulted in a sentence of 30 days of jail time and a fine of $500 on each count. Dick is currently appealing.
According to WVTM, Dick is currently being sued for sexual harassment and misconduct by 10 former patients.
