SHELBY COUNTY – Weather permitting, beginning at 9 p.m. Tuesday, the Alabama Department of Transportation will make guardrail repairs as follows:
At various times, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., segments of the US-280 outside (right) lane will be closed from Milepost 5.88 (Jefferson County Line) to Milepost 31.73 (Talladega County Line).
- The guardrail repairs will continue following this procedure for three (3) consecutive nights (Tuesday through Thursday nights).
- All travel lanes will be re-opened to traffic by 5 a.m. each morning.
Motorists can expect delays during these operations. Motorists are also requested to consider using alternate routes, adjust arrival/departure times, observe work zone speed limits and other work zone signs, and use extreme caution in this area
