BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department said officers have arrested a man suspected in a robbery at the Goo Goo Car Wash at 7641 Crestwood Blvd.
Jamie Layfield, 39, of Odenville, is facing a first-degree robbery charge. He is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $60,000 bond.
The incident happened on Sunday, April 14. Detectives said the suspect demanded money from an employee at knife-point. He told the employee he was armed with a gun and he threatened to kill the employee if he didn’t get money, according to police. After gathering the money, he left the scene.
