TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department is working to fix an intersection that is causing confusion for drivers.
The right turn lane from Trussville Clay Road (County Road 153) into the Trussville Civic Center runs alongside a three-way intersection with Service Road. The main lane and the left turn lane of Trussville Clay Road have traffic lights over them, but the right turn lane does not. Also, the right turn lane does not have a stop bar painted on the roadway as the other two lanes do.
Trussville Police said the best way to handle the intersection is to stop at the light if the light is red. They said it could be dangerous if someone was driving from Service Road and turning into the Civic Center.
The police department is now addressing the issue with the city engineer. The city should know more about how the problem will be solved in the coming days.
