BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department said a man was shot and killed in Ensley on Wednesday, May 1, 2019.
Officers were dispatched to 1705 52nd Street at 7:23 p.m. on a report that multiple shots were fired. Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates said the victim was shot and ran through an alley. When officers arrived, they found the victim on 51st Street.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded and took the victim to BMC Princeton for treatment. He was then taken to UAB Hospital, where he died on the operating table at 11:29 p.m.
The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Terry Wayne Bonner Jr. of Birmingham.
Two people have been detained in connection to the homicide investigation.
