HOOVER — A former Hoover police officer was taken into custody on a domestic violence charge on Sunday, May 5.
According to police, on Sunday at 12:31 a.m., Hoover Police responded to a residence in the 2300 block of Village Center Street on a report of a domestic altercation.
After interviewing both parties, it was determined that a verbal argument escalated into a physical confrontation. Police said the female party sustained injuries (scrapes and red marks) but refused medical attention.
According to authorities, the husband, Jason Bragg McIntosh, 44, was taken into custody and charged with domestic violence in the third degree. McIntosh was transported to the Hoover City Jail without incident and was released after posting $1,000.00 bond at 1:54 a.m. Monday morning.
Police said that McIntosh is a former Hoover Police officer who resigned on March 20, 2019.
According to authorities, McIntosh was the subject of a previous domestic violence case that occurred on February 23. That case is being investigated by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
