The Springville Tigers were able to turn an early lead into a 4-1 victory over Alexandria Monday afternoon.
Two more runs in the second inning put the Tigers in the driver’s seat for the rest of the game.
Abby Swaney had the win for the Tigers. She gave up two hits and one run and struck out 15. Swaney pitched for seven innings.
Maggie Phillips had the loss for Alexandria. Phillips gave up four runs on 11 hits. She struck out three and walked one. Phillips pitched for six innings.
The Tigers saw well in the game and racked up 11 hits. Swayney, McKenzie Spivey and McKenzie Brown had multiple hits for Springville.
Alexandria had three errors in the game.
Springville had zero errors in the game.
