BIRMINGHAM — The identity of a victim in a homicide investigation has been released by Birmingham Police.

Officers responded to the 100 block of 17th Street Southwest around 5:45 a.m. With additional information given to the officers, they were able to locate a victim.
The victim was found on the ground suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to the scene along with the Jefferson County Coroner and pronounced the victim dead.
The victim has been identified as Corderrius Rashad Henderson, 25, of Birmingham.
No one is in custody.
