TRUSSVILLE — Kids looking for something fun and constructive to do with their summer vacations may need look no further than the local library.
The Trussville Public Library is set to kick off the summer reading program on June 3 with a Family Fun Night held behind the library.
“The Trussville Library staff will be hosting an outdoor Family Night event to kick off Summer Reading, with free food and activities for all ages,” said Maura Divies of the Trussville Public Library. “We are excited to offer this new event and all of our Summer Reading activities to the community! There will be programs and entertainment for kids, teens, and adults throughout the months of June and July. Many of the events will celebrate Alabama’s Bicentennial. All Summer Reading events are free!”
The Family Fun Night will run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. This event will feature free food, a game truck and laser tag for teens. There will also be live entertainment and a petting zoo.
Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to sit down and enjoy their food.
