KILL DEVIL HILLS, N.C. — The once-branded “Most Hated Mother in America” is planning to make a movie based on her life, according to DailyMain.com.
The 33-year-old was acquitted, in 2011, in the murder of her two-year-old daughter Caylee. The child’s remains were found in a trash bag in December of 2008, months after she was reported missing by her grandmother.
During a six-week trial, Anthony was accused of partying and neglecting her child. Anthony accused her father of sexually abusing her as part of her defense strategy.
In an interview with DailyMail.com, Anthony said she didn’t want to be paid for the low-budget movie, which would be titled, “As I was Told.” She said she wants to get her side of the story out. She said she believes her daughter may have drowned by accident. Anthony said she will also explain she was told to cover up her knowledge that her daughter was dead for a month. She will change the names of many people in the movie for legal reasons.
Anthony said, in the movie, she will make it clear that she had no part in Caylee’s death or the disposal of her body.
The film will be shot in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina. It could take up to a year to complete the movie.
