SPRINGVILLE — Springville High School graduates of 2019 are off to a good start after being offered $2,339,323 in scholarship money from colleges and universities.
The 176 seniors that received diplomas also accepted $1,529,383 of those scholarship funds. However, $809,940 of scholarship money was declined.
Another $133,150 was offered at the Senior Awards night by local donors.
Springville High School had 176 seniors graduate this year
Ten seniors are going to college on athletic scholarships and four seniors are joining the military.
Overall, 85% of the class of 2019, will attend college. According to Springville High School counselor Karen New, 14% of graduates are planning to immediately join the workforce.
