From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
HOOVER — The match-up between the Hewitt-Trussville Huskies and the Hoover Bucs may not have turned out the way local fans wanted, but the HTHS students, players and administrators made quite an impression on Hoover folks.
“I wanted to take time to commend the students from Hewitt-Trussville for their actions after last night’s game against Hoover,” Hoover Mayor Frank Brocato posted on social media. “The entire student section stayed after the game and picked up every piece of trash in their part of the stadium. Also, their Athletic Director picked up the trash along the visitors sideline, and the visitors locker room was left absolutely spotless! Thank you for such a tremendous demonstration of class and sportsmanship!”
The Twitter feed from Hoover Athletics also had compliments for the Hewitt-Trussville student section.
“One of the most impressive things I have seen in high school athletics! @HewittAthletics students section. Stayed and cleaned up the entire student section! #awesome can’t wait to see @HooverHighBucs join the movement!! #MyReasonWhy”
