ETOWAH COUNTY — A Gadsden woman is facing drug charges five months after avoiding a 10-year prison sentence.
Amber Grace Machen, 26, is charged with drug trafficking, attempting to elude, reckless driving, resisting arrest and other charges, according to court documents.
Machen is accused of fleeing from police during a traffic stop. Deputies said Machen was in possession of around 41 grams of what is believed to be methamphetamine.
According to court documents, Machen was sentenced to 10 years in prison, in April. Instead of being sent to jail, Machen was entered into the Etowah County Community Corrections Program. Prosecutors are now requesting Machen’s involvement in the program be revoked. A hearing on the matter will be held on Oct. 23.
Machen is being held on a $100,000 cash bond in the Etowah County Jail.
