POLICE: Person found shot to death in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department is investigating after a person was shot and killed on Sunday, Nov. 3, 2019.
Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of First Street South, around 5:03 p.m. They found the victim in the street. Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived, along with the Jefferson County Coroner, and pronounced the victim deceased.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
Officers on the scene located a person believed to have been in an altercation with the victim just before the shooting. That person was taken into custody.
