By Joshua Huff, sports editor

The final 2019 Alabama Sports Writers Association football rankings came out this Wednesday with both Pinson Valley and Clay-Chalkville still residing in the top ten in Class 6A.

The Indians moved up to No. 3 and will host an unranked Homewood team in the first round of the playoffs. No. 9 Clay-Chalkville faces a more difficult task as the Cougars will travel south to face No. 7 Helena in the first round.

In Class 5A, Center Point remains unranked. The Eagles hit the road yet again to face No. 5 Etowah in the first round. Etowah knocked Center Point out of the playoffs in 2018.
