ODENVILLE — The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office said Odenville schools were evacuated Wednesday because of a bomb threat.
School personnel told the school resource officer a note was found inside the girls’ restroom. The note indicated a threat of a bomb. Law enforcement took action and evacuated Odenville Middle, Intermediate and Elementary Schools.
A perimeter was secured and no evidence of explosives was found on campus.
No one was injured and students were allowed back to class.
According to the St. Clair County School Board of Education, students in Odenville schools have been evacuated due to safety concerns. All students were safe and secure, according to a message on the BOE website.
The Odenville Police Department, St. Clair County SWAT, Odenville Fire & Rescue and the Pell City Police Department worked together during the situation.
Superintendent Mike Howard assured parents early on in the investigation that the evacuation was not related to a shooting investigation in Moody.
