The Center Point Area Chamber of Commerce is a very active partner in the Center Point Community. Since 2006 our Chamber has been growing in both members and participation. The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, Charity Golf Tournament, Farmers Market, Student Ambassadors Program, National Night Out, Tree Lighting Ceremony, Christmas Parade and Awards Banquet are each a great success and we look to add even more successful programs in 2020. The Chamber sends a representative each year to the International Conference of Shopping Centers for business recruitment and the City of Center Point has had a net business growth for over the past fourteen years. Chamber membership is not just open to businesses, but to anyone who is concerned about the future of Center Point and surrounding areas. We have also recently hired an Economic Development Specialist to focus on bringing new businesses to Center Point. Chamber employees are also participating in an intensive leadership training program that will enable the City of Center Point to become an Alabama Community of Excellence (ACE).
The chamber works very closely with other departments within the City of Center Point including Horticulture, Parks & Recreation, Library & Seniors Center. They also enjoy a close working relationship with the mayor and city council. Mayor Tom Henderson has always encouraged the value of collective efforts for overall growth, development, and well-being of the city & chamber. Other valued entities to the chamber are Center Point Fire District, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department and the Jefferson County E-911 Call Center.
Joining the Center Point Area Chamber of Commerce has many benefits. Networking opportunities abound at our monthly luncheons and other regularly scheduled activities. Monthly newsletters sent out by the Chamber of Commerce include happenings within the Chamber community and listings of our newest members. Our email database can get information to Chamber members in a timely fashion. We have a website that can be accessed at www.centerpointchamber.com and our Facebook account keeps members informed on an up to the minute basis. Our monthly luncheons feature speakers of interest to those in the business community. Our Chamber is comprised of Executive Director – Mary Skelton, Event Coordinator – Tim Gann and Economic Development Specialist – Buddy Aydelette.
