Hewitt-Trussville girls take home state table tennis title, boys finish as runner-up

TRUSSVILLE — The Hewitt-Trussville girls’ table tennis team was crowned state champions on Nov. 1 at the Club Table Tennis State Tournament in what was the all-girls division’s inaugural season.

The squad finished the year undefeated.

No. 1 seeds Caraline Cox and Peyton Glass snagged MVP honors after they concluded the tournament undefeated.

In addition, the Hewitt-Trussville boys’ team finished the tournament in second place behind eventual state champion Spain Park, which won its fourth consecutive title.
