Pinson Valley claimed its 12th consecutive victory this past Friday after its second round victory over Fort Payne, 48-10, in the 2019 AHSAA Class 6A state playoffs. The Indians recorded nearly 600 yards of total offense. The Indians’ defense continued its season-long dominance. The unit held Fort Payne out of the endzone until the third quarter.
In the game, Keyonteze Johnson carried over his sensational performance from the first round into the second round. Johnson recorded 183 passing yards on eight receptions with one touchdown.
Center Point’s R.J. Orr finished as runner-up. The receiver snagged five passes for 117 yards with two touchdowns in the Eagles’ victory over Scottsboro in the second round of the Class 5A playoffs.
