It’s now two down, three to go for Center Point after it dispatched Scottsboro, 26-10, this past Friday in the AHSAA Class 5A second round state playoffs.
The Eagles now turn to a familiar foe, Mortimer Jordan, in the quarterfinals this Friday. Center Point defeated its Region 5 neighbor, 28-21, on Sept. 6.
Through two playoff games, the Eagles have defeated Etowah and Scottsboro by a combined score of 68-23.
Mortimer Jordan, the Region 5 champs cruised past Boaz and Guntersville in the first two rounds.
Three of the four playoff teams from Region five are still alive.
