SHELBY COUNTY — The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what they have classified as a domestic incident ending in a murder-suicide.
On Nov. 17, 2019, around 6:37 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of Meadow Drive. Deputies responded to the area to investigate the situation and developed information that at least one person was possibly armed with a gun inside the residence. Deputies were unable to make contact with the person. The area near the residence was secured, and members of the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office multi-jurisdictional Tactical Response Unit and Crisis Negotiations Unit responded to assist. When deputies entered the residence, they discovered two males deceased inside the residence.
The final status of the investigation is pending until all final reports and evidence have been reviewed.
The sheriff’s office thanked Cahaba Valley Fire and Rescue, Vestavia Hills Fire Department, and Brookhighland Place Apartments for their assistance in the investigation.
