LEEDS — The Leeds First United Methodist Church is hosting a special service this year for those who have lost a loved one.
Blue Christmas will be held on Dec. 22, at 4 p.m., in the church’s main sanctuary. Pastor Jonathan Todd said Blue Christmas will be a time for love and healing for anyone in the community.
“I truly believe that Christmas is one of the most spectacular times of the year,” said Todd. “However, it’s a lonely time of the year for many.”
Family members of those who have passed are invited to the service.
“The service commemorates their loved one,” Todd said. “It doesn’t have to be that they have passed away recently this year, but any time, if they just want to reflect or remember the joys of life celebrated with them.”
Leeds First United Methodist Church is at 7833 Parkway Dr, Leeds, AL 35094.
