RAINSVILLE — The Hewitt-Trussville boys’ basketball team notched its second consecutive victory following Monday night’s 75-65 win over Hamilton at the Mountain Valley News Thanksgiving Classic.
The victory pushed the Huskies to 5-1 on the season. Hewitt-Trussville has won each of its past two games by over 10-plus points.
The Mountain Valley News Thanksgiving Classic is a four-team tournament hosted by Plainview High School. Anniston High School rounds out the four teams participation. Plainview is the 2019 Class 3A champions after defeating Westminster Christian Academy in the championship game, which capped off a 32-2 season. The Bears have won two consecutive Class 3A state championships.
In the opening-round win over Hamilton, the Huskies were led by Cameron Glover’s 17 points. Tyler Pickett followed with 15 points and Brandan Copeland recorded 13 points on the night.
Hewitt-Trussville returns to the hardwood Tuesday night with a matchup against Plainview.

- The Leeds boys’ basketball team won its second game of the season after defeating Dora, 43-38, in the Leeds Basketball Thanksgiving Tournament. The Greenwave sit at 2-5 on the season.
