From The Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce
TRUSSVILLE — Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall will be the featured speaker at the Dec. 19 luncheon of the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce.
A graduate with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the University of Alabama School of Law, Marshall served as Marshall County District Attorney for 16 years. As DA, he founded the Marshall County Major Crimes Unit, the Marshall County Forensics Lab, and the Marshall County Crystal Meth Task Force. He was also selected to serve on the Board of Directors for the National District Attorneys Association.
As Attorney General, Marshall has embraced his role as the state’s Chief Law Enforcement Officer and is committed to making Alabama a safer place to live. In January 2018, he launched his Initiative on Violent Crime. The mission, Marshall declared, is to “help cities reclaim their streets, restore the rule of law, and see their communities revived.” In its first year, the Initiative has resulted in the arrests of nearly 300 violent offenders.
Marshall was recently elected to the Executive Committee of the Republican Attorneys General Association, a nod to his demonstrated expertise and leadership on a variety of national policy issues including the opioid crisis, illegal immigration, and religious liberty.
Attorney General Marshall has one daughter, Faith, and is a member of Church of the Highlands in Montgomery, Alabama.
The luncheon will take place at the Trussville Civic Center. Network development time will begin at 11.30 a.m.; lunch will be served at noon. Marshall’s presentation will begin at approximately 12:30.
