BIRMINGHAM — Detectives from the Birmingham Police Department are conducting a homicide investigation after a 24-year-old man was found shot to death. The incident occurred on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, at approximately 11 a.m.
The victim has been identified as David Kendall Hendon, of Birmingham.
“Officers from the West Precinct responded to a call of a person down at 5613 Camden Avenue SW. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim unresponsive laying between hedges in the front yard of the residence,” Sgt. Rodarius Mauldin said. “Birmingham Fire and Rescue reported to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased.”
Mauldin said investigators determined the victim was shot at an unknown location and wandered into the yard where he collapsed. The victim was later found by the occupants of the residence.
There are no suspects in custody and investigators have not established a motive.
