MOODY — The Moody Police Department is offering an ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate) two-day instructor certification course.
ALICE strategies empower individuals to act on their own in the gap between the beginning of a violent situation and the moment law enforcement arrives. It offers proactive, option-based strategies to survive a critical incident, such as an active shooter, violent intruder, mass shooting, terrorism, workplace violence and other man-made tragedies.
Anyone with ALICE certification has the opportunity to bring training back to their organization and will have access to resources.
ALICE is aligned with recommendations from the Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Health and Human Services, Federal Emergency Management Agency, Department of Education, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and many state government agencies.
Prior to the two-day class, participants must complete the prerequisite ALICE Introduction for Instructors e-Learning course, which is included with training. Within 5 minutes of registration for ALICE Instructor Certification Training, participants will receive an email invitation to set up an account to access this e-Learning course.
The course will be Jan. 7 and 8, 2020, at the Moody Civic Center. Early bird registration is $595. Regular registration is $695.
