CENTER POINT — The Alabama Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of an early-morning apartment fire in Center Point on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2019.
Center Point Fire and Rescue Chief Gene Coleman said a rescue unit was returning from the hospital when the driver noticed a fire off Center Point Parkway. The driver called for help at 5:57 a.m. and crews responded to the Parkway Villa Apartments, on 14th Avenue Northeast.
“There was heavy fire involvement, additional companies responded and began a defensive operation,” said Coleman.
The building was vacant and no injuries were reported. The building is a total loss.
